The Pipework’s Controller is responsible for the management of the Accounting operations of the Company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a set of controls and budgets designed to enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with GAAP.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop a strong collaborative relationship with team leaders in order to participate in and support the company’s strategic objectives
  • Direct the company’s overall accounting functions, including all financial reporting, cash management and internal policies and procedures
  • Report to CFO
  • The company consists of two entities that will be supported
  • Ensure account compliance with GAAP, SOX (once we get there), federal, and state regulations
  • Compile, analyze monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc financial reporting packages, and communicate financial metrics to senior management
  • Manage cash flow
  • Develop, monitor, manage, and improve account controls policies, procedures, and systems in accordance with the company’s needs and all compliance regulations
  • Provide financial analysis as needed
  • Manage the annual external financial audit, write annual reports and provide reporting as needed to auditors
  • Work with outside tax preparers to timely file all local, state, and federal tax returns, including sales and use tax, income, franchise and gross receipts
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Manage the Company’s accounting functions and personnel
  • Manage basic relationship with bank
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Knowledge and clear understanding of Microsoft Office products
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Excel
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Navision or similar ERP system
  • Experience in supporting a multitude of people, projects, clients, and vendors
  • Excellence in written and verbal communications
  • Ability to maintain composure and re-prioritize work in a fast changing, high stress environment
  • Well versed in corporate finance, including financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, and strategic planning
  • Advanced time management, planning and organization skills
  • Knowledge and clear understanding of Microsoft Office products
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Excel
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Navision or similar ERP system
  • Experience in supporting a multitude of people, projects, clients, and vendors

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with an advanced degree in accounting, finance or business administration preferred
  • Master’s degree a plus
  • 6 or more years experience in financial accounting including accounting management
  • Active CPA certificate preferred
